Abstract 2225 Effects of Polyphenon E on CCSER2 gene expression in DU145 prostate cancer cells
Polyphenon E (Poly E) is a standardized, decaffeinated mixture of green tea polyphenols. A prior study using the TRAMP mouse model of human prostate cancer (PCa) demonstrated a dose-dependent chemopreventive effect from oral administration of Poly E. In previous study, we isolated RNA for comparative RNA microarray from untreated DU145 cells and DU145 treated with Poly E (0 vs. 200 mg/L Poly E). RNA Microarray data for 54,613 transcripts were filtered for > 2-fold expression level changes. CCSER2, which plays a role in cellular processes such as chromatin organization, cytoskeletal dynamics, and intracellular transport, was one of the genes detected with >2-fold expression level change and was selected for TaqMan qRT-PCR analyses.
