Abstract 1422 Synthesis of Efficient Carbonic Anhydrase-Fe-MOF Composite for Enhancing CO2 Absorption

In this study, the effects of chemically synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) on Triticum vulgare L. cv.Pehlivan plants were evaluated using the precipitation method. The ZnO NPs synthesized in the study were characterized by FTIR, X-ray and SEM-EDX techniques. The infrared spectra of the prepared ZnO NPs were recorded with a Perkin Elmer Spectrum Two FT-IR model Fourier transform infrared spectrometer in the range of 4000-400 cm-1 using the ATR technique.ZnO NPs were applied at specific doses (0.01%, 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1%) for 5 days under Hoagland and brine conditions. In particular, Hoagland + 0.1% ZnO NP treatment significantly increased CAT, GST and SOD activities, as well as MDA and Zn levels. In addition, Hoagland+ZnO NP application at different concentrations increased fatty acid ratios. In particular, in Hoagland+0.1% ZnO NP treatment, proline and arginine levels increased by 2.1 and 19.9 times, respectively, compared to the control group. On the other hand, NaCl+ZnO NP treatments caused an increase in growth parameters, with the highest increase observed in NaCl+0.05%ZnO NP treatment. These treatments also increased CAT, GST and SOD activities, increased polyunsaturated fatty acids (linolenic acid and a-linolenic acid), decreased MDA and Zn levels, and increased wheat resistance to salt stress. Moreover, NaCl+ZnO NP treatments led to significant increases in essential amino acid levels such as histidine, arginine and glutamic acid, with the highest increase observed in NaCl+0.1% ZnO NP treatment. The changes in unsaturated fatty acid and amino acid levels were evaluated as strategies to cope with oxidative stress induced by ZnO NPs in wheat plants, and it was generally suggested that ZnO NP treatment could potentially be used to enhance plant growth under salt stress conditions.
