Abstract 1950 Anticancer effects of esculetin, an active compound from Citrus reticulata, on colorectal cancer cell lines and its anti-inflammatory properties in a DSS-induced colitis model

This study investigated the therapeutic potential of esculetin, a natural compound isolated from Citrus reticulata, focusing on its ability to suppress the progression of colorectal cancer and mitigate inflammation in a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis model. MTT assays were conducted to examine the cytotoxic effects of esculetin on normal human dermal fibroblast (NHDF) cells and its effect on cell viability in four colorectal cancer cell lines (HCT116, DLD-1, SW480, and SW620). Soft agar assay was conducted to evaluate the effects of esculetin on colony formation and growth.
