Abstract 2295 TIP60 and ΔNp63α: A therapeutic Axis in Targeting Cisplatin Resistance in Squamous cell carcinoma
The lack of sufficient governmental aid for women in rural Kenya has significantly restricted access to preventative breast cancer screenings and early diagnosis, resulting in a higher risk of late-stage detection in these underserved communities. This study investigates the disparities in access to medical screenings, particularly breast cancer, among women in Kenya's underserved areas.Data was gathered from a survey conducted with 60 women during the summer of 2024 field research. The project examined how limited access to early detection and screenings impacts the early diagnosis and treatment outcomes for women in these regions.Analysis of the survey data revealed substantial gaps in healthcare knowledge, with many women not recognizing the importance of preventative care. The survey also highlighted broader issues such as individual and familial health and access to basic necessities like water.According to the survey results, 96% of participants reported never having cancer, while 3% responded affirmatively. The findings suggest that government initiatives are inadequate in promoting or providing access to preventative healthcare services, leaving many women vulnerable. This study aims to highlight the urgent need for improved education and adequate governmental support for early detection and treatment of cancer in Kenya's disadvantaged regions.
