Abstract 1282 Effects of Glucose and Gold Nanospheres on Glioma Cells
Glioma-type tumors originate in the brain and can metastasize throughout the nervous system. They account for approximately 33% of all brain tumors and consist of cell types such as astrocytes, oligodendrogliomas, and glioblastomas. While astrocytes are typically benign and can be surgically removed if localized, glioblastomas are highly aggressive and often deemed inoperable due to their challenging locations within the brain. Gold nanoparticles offer a less invasive alternative and hold promise as a potential treatment for cancers.
