Abstract 1829 Investigating the effects of cannabidiol on 3T3-L1 adipocyte development

As obesity is becoming a global epidemic, research in treating this metabolic condition is crucial. Our study aimed to determine how Cannabidiol (CBD) affects adipocyte development by examining the effects of this non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid in undifferentiated and differentiated 3T3-L1 murine fibroblasts/adipocytes. Confluent preadipocytes were treated with increasing CBD concentrations (0.2, 1, 2, and 20 μM) 24 h before vs at the start of the differentiation protocol. The differentiation protocol consisted of a treatment with a differentiation cocktail (insulin, dexamethasone, and IBMX), followed by three treatments with insulin every 24 h.
