Abstract 1424 Induced Proximity to Control Protein Modifications
The regulation of post-translational modifications (PTMs) on proteins is indispensable in a multitude of biological processes. For example, lysine acylations has been shown to play an important role in regulating protein homeostasis via a variety of mechanisms. The Burslem lab focuses on the development of modular targeted modification strategies to probe questions in acylation biology and their application to disease relevant proteins. Using a modular synthetic biology strategy, we have generated a panel of a mammalian vectors to express proteins containing a targeting domain (i.e., HaloTag, GFP Nanobody) fused to an effector domain (i.e.
