Abstract 2347 N-terminus and Intervening Domain of NEMO Mediate NEMO Liquid-liquid Phase Separation In Vitro
Nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB) essential modulator, or NEMO, is the scaffold protein of inhibitor of κB kinase (IKK) complex which is the signaling hub of NFκB activation. Dysfunction of NEMO could lead to human disease such as incontinentia pigmenti (IP) and ectodermal dysplasia, anhidrotic, with immunodeficiency (EDA-ID), and is associated with a range of cancers (1). NEMO has been previously shown to liquid-liquid-phase-separate (LLPS) with linear-polyubiquitin in vitro, and colocalized into puncta in vivo.
