Abstract 2031 A Robust Method To Maintain Age-Synchronized Caenorhabditis elegans Population For High-Throughput Aging Studies
Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) is a widely used invertebrate model for investigating the mechanism of aging and age-related neurological disorders due to its numerous advantages. However, each worm produces over 300 progenies during its lifetime which complicates population management for aging studies. Traditionally, experiments are performed manually on solid media, requiring labor-intensive daily transfers of adult worms. This process risks microbial contamination and necessitates repeated food and treatment administration, significantly limiting the scalability of compound or RNAi library screenings for aging research.
