Abstract 2099 Effects of leptin on the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma
Obesity is recognized as a risk factor for cancer development in several organs, including the liver. Leptin, an adipokine increased production in the obese adipose tissues, is one of the underlying associations in adiposity-associated cancer. However, the roles of leptin in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain controversial in different studies where most of them are focused on its function in cancer cell proliferation. This study thus aims to investigate the effects of leptin on the aggressive phenotypes of HCC cells in the extended aspects.
