Abstract 2931 Novel synthetic functionalization of fluorescent probes and therapeutics delivery
There is a gap in chemical tools currently available for targeting disease-linked molecules relevant to therapeutics and bioimaging. Our lab focuses on detection and targeting of said molecules by novel reactivity-guided molecular designs that functionalize fluorophores and drugs, namely (1) fluorescent probes and (2) prodrugs. (1) Hydrogen sulfide is an inorganic molecule reported to play vital roles in diseases including cancer and Down's Syndrome, as well as a possible therapeutic for Alzheimer's progression.
