Abstract 2247 Development of ATP FRET Biosensors with a Donor Violet Fluorescent Protein, Sumire
Genetically encoded Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) biosensors have been extensively developed using two different fluorophores. Traditionally fluorescent protein donor-acceptor pairs such as blue-cyan, cyan-green, and green-yellow were often picked for their spectral overlaps and relatively high quantum yield. With the need to measure multiple cellular events, color space can quickly be used up leading to spectral crosstalk. One potential solution to this would be to extend the color space and include violet.
