Abstract 1270 Institutional Transformation for Inclusive Excellence in STEM
Mount Mary University (MMU) is a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) in 1912 to mitigate educational inequity (gender, income, race) for immigrant women and later intentionally broadened their purpose to include women from other underrepresented groups. MMU continues the SSND mission by enrolling only females at the undergraduate level (graduate level enrolls both sexes); 86% of which come from the city of Milwaukee.
