Abstract 1810 Using Galaxy to Analyze Soil and Sourdough DNA Sequencing Data
Galaxy is an online, open-source, web-based platform for bioinformatics analysis. It can run softwares such as Mothur, useful for analyzing DNA sequencing data. DNA from soil and sourdough samples was collected and sent for next generation sequencing (NGS) of the V3 and V4 variable regions of the 16S rRNA gene to determine the bacteria in the samples. The sequencing data was analyzed and converted into a histogram by the same company that sequenced it. However, the company's (Azenta) analysis included lots of ‘unknown' sequences and a suboptimal visualization.
