Stabilization Control Strategy of Flexible HVDC Converter for Suppressing Low-Frequency Oscillations in Power Grids
Power system still faces the risk of low-frequency oscillations dominated by synchronous generators. Flexible high-voltage DC (HVDC) transmission technology, with its agile control performance and efficient energy transmission capabilities, has been widely applied in fields such as power grid interconnection and renewable energy integration. Utilizing the flexibility and controllability of flexible HVDC converter to suppress low-frequency oscillations in power grids is a feasible technical approach. To this end, a stabilization control strategy of flexible HVDC converter for suppressing low-frequency oscillations of synchronous generators was proposed in this paper, and a stabilization control parameter design method was also provided. The proposed method has been validated through Matlab/Simulink simulations, demonstrating its effectiveness in suppressing low-frequency oscillations in power grids.
