Evaluation of Wind Farm Power Generation Capacity Using Comprehensive Operational Simulation
Evaluating wind farm power generation capacity is essential for quantifying the integration potential of wind power into the grid and ensuring the reliable operation of power systems. Existing evaluation methods often focus primarily on wind resource analysis, overlooking the combined effects of wind turbine characteristics, reliability, and grid connection conditions. To address this gap, this study introduces a comprehensive operational simulation model based method that could integratinal consider wind resources, turbine performance, grid connection conditions, and grid performance assessment to improve evaluation accuracy. Meanwhile, a tailored evaluation procedure is developed to account for multi-factor interactions, employing a controlled variable method to quantitatively analyze the impact of each factor on wind farm power generation capacity. A case study of a specific wind farm is conducted to validate the proposed methodology. The results indicate that this approach offers a more thorough and accurate assessment of wind farm power generation capacity, providing substantial support for improving the management and operational efficiency of wind power grid integration.
