Research on Integrated Technology of Energy Recovery of Piezoelectric Flow Induced Vibration in Hydro Power Station

With the continuous growth in energy demand and the emphasis on sustainable development, improving energy utilization efficiency has become a key objective across various sectors. As an important power generation facility, hydroelectric power stations contain considerable amounts of energy in their draft tubes. Currently, numerous attempts have been made to recover energy from the draft tubes of hydroelectric power stations. However, when the flow velocity within the draft tube is low or the flow state is complex, turbines struggle to operate effectively, leading to a significant reduction in energy recovery efficiency. Additionally, while some new energy recovery technologies show theoretical advantages, their high costs and complex structures limit their practical application in the actual environment of hydroelectric power station draft tubes. Moreover, existing energy recovery solutions often fail to adequately consider compatibility with the original structure and flow conditions of the draft tube, potentially impacting the normal operation of the hydroelectric power station. In light of these challenges, this study explores the integration of a piezoelectric energy recovery device based on flow-induced vibration, aiming to develop a new, efficient, and adaptable method for energy recovery.
