A Study of Multiple Linear Regression and Correlation Coefficients in Physical Fitness Analysis of College Students
Testing and recording the physical fitness indicators of 4231 male and 9508 female students at a western university in 2023, the main indicators affecting the total physical fitness score were studied through correlation analysis, and a prediction model was constructed based on knowledge of multiple linear regression to provide targeted training directions for improving the total physical fitness score. In addition, academic warnings were issued in a timely manner for students predicted to fail, and the direction of training indicators for this group of students was revealed through correlation analysis. Recommendations were made for students predicted to excel to maintain good habits. This initiative can help university physical education teachers formulate intervention measures in advance and provide suggestions for further reform of physical education curriculum teaching.
