Offshore-Onshore Grid Synergistic Planning for Offshore Wind Power Bases Considering HVAC, LFAC and HVDC Transmission

With the continuous development of renewable energy sources, offshore wind power, as a rich renewable energy resource, has received widespread attention in recent years. However, how offshore wind power can be safely and economically connected to the power system has become a key issue to be solved. This paper proposes an offshore and onshore grid planning model that integrates multiple access methods to optimize the access scheme for offshore wind farms (OWF). This paper considers three different access methods: high-voltage alternating current (HVAC) transmission, low-frequency alternating current (LFAC) transmission and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission. At the same time, this paper studies the modification options for the onshore grid to ensure that the grid can effectively withstand and transmit the power generated by OWF. Through case studies, this paper gives OWF access options and proposes modification options for the provincial grid. The method helps to improve the access efficiency of offshore wind power and promotes the large-scale development and utilization of offshore wind power.
