Design of a SPMSM Based on Improved Magnetic Circuit Method
In response to the intricacies and inefficiencies associated with the electromagnetic design process of permanent magnet synchronous motors, a methodology predicated upon an abridged equivalent magnetic circuit analysis has been proposed. This paper investigates the electromagnetic design of a 10 kW Surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, focusing on the analysis of key performance indicators such as power and efficiency. First, we need to select the permanent magnet material and determine its dimensions.Next, establish the target efficiency and power of the motor. Finally, perform calculations and analyses of the magnetic circuit, electrical circuit, and overall performance. Simulation results show that this method not only simplifies the design process but also produces a Surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor with satisfactory power and an efficiency of 94.3%. Furthermore, the calculation time is only 15 minutes, providing a useful reference for the development and design of similar motors in the future.
