Design and Analysis of a Low-g Compliant Bistable Inertial Switch

Based on the switching characteristics of a threesegment fully compliant bistable mechanism (TSFCBM), a passive acceleration switch with low-g triggering is designed. Then, a dynamic model of the switch system is established, and the dynamic characteristics of the switch were analyzed through numerical experiments. The analysis results show that the compliant bistable inertial switch (CBIS) can close self-locking in the forward direction and disconnect unlocking in the backward direction. In addition, the switch does not trigger when the amplitude of the acceleration signal is 0.01 g below both the design closure threshold ($3 g$) and the design disconnection threshold (-3g), demonstrating good threshold characteristics and verifying the correctness of the structural design and theoretical analyses. This study provides a design reference for developing acceleration switches with a low- g threshold and highaccuracy triggering.
