Modification of Silicone Rubber Insulation Materials for Dry-Type Transformers
Transformers play a crucial role in the conversion and transmission of electrical energy and are the core equipment of the power transmission and distribution system. Their safe and reliable operation is of great significance for maintaining the normal operation of the modern economic and social system. Silicone rubber dry-type transformers, with advantages such as high safety and environmental friendliness, represent an important direction for the green development of transformers. However, the low thermal conductivity of existing silicone rubber materials affects the heat dissipation of dry-type transformers, thus influencing the stability of their overload operation. This is a key issue restricting the large-scale application of silicone rubber dry-type transformers. In this paper, the modification of silicone rubber materials was achieved by doping h-BN (hexagonal boron nitride). Under the final obtained formulation, the thermal conductivity of the silicone rubber composite doped with 20 phr of h-BN has increased by 68.44% compared to that of intrinsic silicone rubber, while the tensile strength has only decreased by 19.68%, meeting the application requirements of dry-type transformers.
