Real-Time Application Automatic Irrigation System Based on LabVIEW

Given the drawbacks of traditional irrigation methods, which fail to save on labor costs, this paper addresses the low level of automation in existing irrigation technologies by employing embedded and automation technology to revamp traditional irrigation methods, and develops an automatic irrigation control system. The paper designs the central hub for irrigation control, including the hardware selection and design for the system. Environmental information is captured via sensors, and actuators carry out automatic irrigation control, enhancing irrigation efficiency. A supervisory data monitoring system is designed using the LabVIEW virtual instrumentation development platform. This system communicates with the lower machine through the VISA function to perform serial communication data read and write. The monitored soil moisture measurements and pump working status are displayed and recorded in real time through graphs, numerical data, and indicators, enabling remote monitoring functionality. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of this system design.
