Synthesisation of ZnO:Al Nanoparticles by Uncovered Hydrothermal Method for Photocatalytic Activity of Azoic Dye
This study is novel since it employs photo degradation of azoic dye using Al-doped ZnO nanostructured particles by using $\mathbf{Z n C l}_{2}$ as precursor. Al- doped $\mathbf{Z n O}$ nanostructured films are synthesised on the ZnO seed layer by uncovered hydrothermal procedure at $85^{\circ} \mathrm{C}$ for 1.5 hours. The seeded layer is produced on a glassubstrate by spin coating at 3000 rpm for 70 seconds. The structural properties of the films displayed a high crystallinity wurtzite structure. Excellent absorption edge and bandgap energy between 3.20 and 3.36 eV are found thefilms. Hexagons are the shapes that could be seen in the scanning electron microscope images; they are very photoactive and have a large surface area. Furthermore, asthe amount of AI in the thin films increases, so does their photodegrading efficiency.
