Design and Analysis of Reconfigurable Antenna for 5G and Radar Applications

The emergence of multi-standard devices is driven by electromagnetic spectrum limitations and advancements in wireless communication technologies. Telecommunication systems must integrate multiple standards on a single antenna to accommodate the introduction of new standards. This research presents a reconfigurable antenna capable of operating as a single-band antenna at 5.48 GHz under typical conditions. After reconfiguration, the antenna operates as a dual-band antenna at 5.37 GHz and 7.51 GHz, respectively. The 5.48 GHz frequency band is suitable for 5 G applications, while the 7.51 GHz band is ideal for radar applications. Simulation results demonstrate that the antenna achieves acceptable performance metrics, including gain, directivity, VSWR, and reflection coefficient. Specifically, the simulated return loss values are -36.3 dB at $5.48 \mathrm{GHz},-33.4 \mathrm{~dB}$ at 5.37 GHz, and -20.8 dB at 7.51 GHz, indicating efficient performance across these frequencies.
