An Evaluation Method for Intraday Renewable Energy Accommodation Capacity Under Security and Stability Constraints
With the rapid integration of large-scale renewable energy sources into power grids, power systems face significant increasing challenges in accommodating large-scale renewable penetration. Accurate assessment of the maximum renewable energy capacity that a power system can accommodate is both essential and valuable. In this paper, a method is proposed to evaluate the renewable energy accommodation capacity at the intraday time scale under comprehensive security and stability constraints. A nonlinear optimization model is formulated to maximize the accommodation capacity, incorporating constraints such as transmission line active power flow limits, small-signal stability constraints, and frequency stability requirements. The model is solved using the bald eagle search (BES) optimization algorithm. A case study based on a regional power grid in a specific province demonstrates the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method.
