Application Scenario Analysis and Evaluation Model for Superconducting Cable Planning in Urban Power Grid
Superconducting cables offer numerous advantages such as high transmission capacity, low line losses, land footprint reduction, environmental friendliness, and the capability for high-power electricity transmission. These attributes address issues such as tight power supply-demand balances in urban power grids, the saturation of underground transmission and distribution corridors, thereby contributing to the achievement of national Dual Carbon (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) goals. However, there is limited research on selecting appropriate application scenarios for HTS cable projects and on comparing HTS cable planning schemes. The evaluation of HTS cable planning schemes are prerequisites for promoting their application in urban power grids. This process involves constructing technically feasible application scenarios and comparing implementation schemes within specific scenarios. Firstly, this paper proposes application scenarios for HTS cable in urban power grids. Secondly, a planning evaluation model is established to quantify various cost and benefit factors in HTS cable plannings. Finally, the validity of the model is demonstrated through the proposed application scenarios.
