Structural Design and Strength Verification of Composite Case for a Solid Rocket Motor with Small Polar Hole Ratio
In order to explore the design scheme of unequal polar holes composite case with small pole hole ratio, this paper selected a small pole hole ratio solid rocket motor model and conducted design, numerical simulation, and hydrostatic testing on it. The cylinder was designed based on grid theory and geodesic method, and the fiber thickness of dome was predicted by using cubic spline function method. ANSYS ACP was used to carry out modeling and numerical simulation, and finally a hydrostatic test was carried out. Finally, under the working pressure of 15Mpa, the shell has a circumferential deformation of 2.71mm and an axial deformation of 19.5mm, and the structure of the layers are complete. The results show that the geodesic method is still suitable for the design of small pole-hole ratio composites.
