An Improved Zero-Sequence Current Suppression Method for Open-Winding PMSM Based on Cost Free Function Model Predictive Torque Control

This paper proposes an improved multi-vector model predictive torque control (MPTC) strategy with smaller zero-sequence current (ZSC) and torque ripple to address the issue of ZSC problems in open-winding permanent magnet synchronous motors (OW-PMSM) with common DC bus in vehicles. Firstly, the reference voltage vector for the next moment can be derived through the principle of torque and flux linkage deadbeat control, and the position of the reference voltage vector can be calculated through angle calculation. In the output voltage vector diagram of the dual inverter, select a specific voltage vector combination based on the position of the voltage vector and the direction of the ZSC. Then, the duty cycle of each vector was calculated using the PR controller and the principle of torque and flux linkage deadbeat control, achieving the suppression of ZSC and torque ripple in the OW-PMSM with common DC bus. Finally, the strategy was verified to have good steady-state and dynamic performance on the experimental platform of the OW-PMSM.1
