Construction of Ideological and Political Education System in Information Management and Information System Major
Universities bear the crucial responsibility of cultivating high-quality professionals for society. Beyond delivering specialized knowledge, higher education institutions must also emphasize the holistic development of students. In this paper, we take the Information Management and Information Systems (IMIS) major at a particular university as a case study to develop an ideological and political education system for academic programs. We propose a methodology for identifying ideological and political content within IMIS courses. We examine the "Database Principle" course as an experimental focus, extracting shared and course-specific ideological and political elements from 13 core IMIS courses. This leads to the construction of a comprehensive ideological and political education system for the IMIS major. Finally, through an overall analysis of the IMIS core curriculum, we explore the key ideological and political content for each course. We incorporate teaching methods such as case-based instruction with integrated ideological and political elements, thus embedding this educational framework into the classroom setting and fully realizing the courses’ educational objectives.
