Analysis of Research Hotspots of Information Technology in Education in the Last 14 Years Based on VOSviewer And CiteSpace
We extracted the papers and their citations published in SSCI and SCI-E from January 2010 to December 2023 in Web of Science, and performed quantitative and visual analysis with the help of VOSviewer and CiteSpace software, and introduced the research hotspots, evolution paths and development trends in the field of information technology in education by mapping the high-frequency keyword relationship network, the keyword time-zone atlas, and the co-citation atlas of journals and literature. Utilizing the high-frequency keyword relationship network, along with keyword time zone mapping and co-citation analysis of journals and literature, we've identified the research focal points, evolutionary trajectory, and future direction of educational information technology. Additionally, we've examined the most cited works across various time zones to outline the prevailing research interests and understand the field's progression. Our research indicates that there is a lack of a cohesive author collaboration network, and publications are primarily found in categories such as Educational Technology and Computer Education. It is also evident that the scope and complexity of research in the field has grown significantly over the past fourteen years.
