Source-Load Complementary Optimal Scheduling Based on the Synergy of Green Certificate and Tiered Carbon Trading Mechanisms

In response to the challenges faced by multi-energy coupling regional integrated energy systems in low-carbon economic operations, this paper proposes a source-load complementary optimal scheduling method based on the synergy of the Green Certificate and tiered carbon trading mechanisms. First, by introducing the Green Certificate and tiered carbon trading collaborative mechanism, the paper enhances the absorption capacity of renewable energy on the source side and effectively reduces carbon emissions from the system. Second, on the load side, the method employs incentive-based demand response and peak-shaving revenue strategies to regulate the “peak shaving and valley filling” process of combined heat and power (CHP) loads, balancing system load while meeting user demand. Finally, aiming to minimize daily operating costs, the problem is solved using the Gurobi optimization solver. The case study results demonstrate that the Green Certificate and tiered carbon trading collaborative mechanism can improve the effectiveness of demand response, enhance the renewable energy absorption capacity on the source side, promote source-load coordinated carbon reduction, and reduce system operating costs, thereby improving the system's greenness, low-carbon nature, and economic performance.
