Research on Insulation Performance of Low Frequency Potential Transformer
With the accelerated implementation of the ‘dual-carbon’ strategic objectives, the exponential growth of offshore wind power installations has imposed elevated technical demands on flexible low-frequency AC transmission systems. As a key equipment in low-frequency transmission system, the insulation performance of potential transformer (PT) directly affects the reliability and system safety of electric energy metering. However, there is still a lack of research on the insulation characteristics of PT under low frequency conditions. In this paper, 220 kV low-frequency electromagnetic PT is taken as the research object. Through theoretical modeling and finite element simulation, the influence of inter-turn insulation thickness, winding outer insulation layer design and shell distance on its insulation performance is systematically analyzed. The research results provide an important reference for the optimal design of low frequency PT and the reliable operation of offshore wind power flexible low frequency transmission system.
