Research on User Intention to Use ESP Virtual Reality Learning Platform Based on the UTAUT Model

This study employs the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT and UTAUT2) frameworks to evaluate vocational students’ adoption of a Virtual Reality (VR) learning platform for English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the analysis of data from 387 questionnaires not only highlights the critical roles of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and hedonic motivation but also illustrates how social influence, facilitating conditions, and habitual use contribute to predicting user acceptance. The findings emphasize the importance of enhancing learning outcomes and user experience to improve acceptance rates. Additionally, the research reveals strong correlations between these factors and sustained engagement with VR technologies in educational settings, suggesting actionable strategies for educators and developers to refine VR learning platforms. The study supports the broader integration of VR into ESP education and offers valuable insights into the effective implementation of technology acceptance models, which are crucial for advancing digital transformation in language teaching. This research not only guides the deployment of educational technologies but also paves the way for expanded research into digitalized educational methods and tools.
