Research on Electrolytic Aluminum Load Participation in Power Grid Secondary Frequency Regulation Based on Optimized Dynamic Matrix Control

With the increasing integration of renewable energy sources, the stability and frequency regulation capability of power systems face significant challenges. Electrolytic aluminum loads, as high-energy-consuming industrial loads, exhibit substantial potential in participating in power grid frequency regulation due to their rapid adjustability and energy recovery characteristics. However, existing control strategies often struggle to balance response speed, regulation accuracy, and energy efficiency under complex grid conditions. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel method for electrolytic aluminum load participation in secondary frequency regulation based on optimized dynamic matrix control (DMC). The proposed approach integrates particle swarm optimization (PSO) to enhance the adaptability and robustness of the control system. Simulation results demonstrate that the method significantly improves the response speed and regulation accuracy of electrolytic aluminum loads, providing a reliable solution for power grid frequency regulation under high penetration of renewable energy.
