Active-passive Coupling Control Method to Reduce Aerodynamic Noise of Airfoil at High Angle of Attack
To further enhance the aerodynamic performance and aeroacoustic performance of the airfoil, the combination of Large Eddy Simulation and Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings is used to investigate the effects of different control methods (trailing edge deflection, leading edge rotating cylinder + trailing edge deflection) on the performance of NACA 0012 airfoil at different angles of attack. The changes in noise characteristics of the airfoil at a high angle of attack of 18°are also compared. The research results demonstrate that compared to a single passive control method (trailing-edge deflection), the combined active and passive control method (leading-edge rotating cylinder + trailing-edge deflection) can further effectively improve the aerodynamic performance and acoustic performance of the airfoil, and the dominant large-scale separated vortex structures responsible for the noise are effectively suppressed.
