Research on Thermodynamics Comprehensive Analysis Method Considering the Life Cycle of Turbofan Engine

This paper examines the thermodynamic characteristics of a twin-shaft turbofan engine without a mixer. A variety of analytical techniques are employed in order to achieve this objective. The initial method comprehensively assesses the combined impact of five key indicators: relative fuel consumption rate, relative fan diameter, relative weight, relative production cost and relative development cost. Finally, the optimal model is identified as having a temperature of 1450K, a pressure ratio of 17.5, and a bypass ratio of 7. The second method employs three indicators—relative fan diameter, relative weight, and relative life cycle cost—and reaches the same conclusion as the first method. Furthermore, the impact of alterations in the pressure ratios of the fan and the low-pressure compressor on the operational parameters was evaluated. An increase in the pressure ratios of the low-pressure compressor will result in an increase in the total temperature in front of the turbine, which is indicative of the minimum fuel consumption. Conversely, when the low-pressure compressor pressure ratio is maintained constant and the fan pressure ratio is increased, the minimum fuel consumption rate will decrease, while the total temperature in front of the turbine remains unchanged.
