PAPR Reduction of Delay Doppler Modulation using Polyphase Sequences
Delay-Doppler (DD) modulation is a promising technique for efficient data transmission over dual-dispersive wireless communication channels. DD-modulated signals are known to exhibit a considerable peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), leading to a decline in overall performance. This paper proposes a low-complexity novel PAPR reduction method based on polyphase sequences possessing favorable correlation properties. Simulation reveals that a noteworthy reduction in PAPR is achieved in comparison to DD-modulated signals while incurring just a minor error Rate performance deterioration when compared with the uncompensated DD modulated signal. Results from the simulations also suggest that the proposed method surpasses existing techniques in both PAPR suppression and error rate performance. This innovative compensation strategy’s effectiveness is evident without additional transmit power or compromising the data rate.
