High-Gain Dual-Band Terahertz Antenna Using Polyimide for 6G Applications

This paper presents the design and analysis of a dual-band rectangular patch antenna for TeraHertz (THz) frequency applications, utilizing a compact polyimide substrate with dimensions of 20µm× 20µm× 1.6µm. The antenna is optimized to achieve high gain and compact size, with simulated results indicating resonant frequencies at 7.18 THz and 10.06 THz, providing gains of 6.63 dBi and 11.19 dBi, respectively. The Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) is exceptionally low at both frequencies, measured at 1.03 and 1.01, ensuring minimal signal reflection and excellent impedance matching. The antenna also demonstrates substantial bandwidths of 0.35 THz at 7.18 THz and 0.33 THz at 10.06 THz, making it ideal for high-frequency applications that require efficient and wideband performance. This design highlights the potential of THz communication systems, especially in scenarios demanding compact, high-gain, and wideband antennas, paving the way for advancements in next-generation wireless networks.
