Assessing the conformance of school buildings to electrical standards

This study explored the compliance of electrical systems within the school buildings of Benguet State University’s Buguias and Bokod campuses. Given the critical importance of electrical safety in educational environments, this research assesses how well the existing electrical installations adhere to the Philippine Electrical Code and other relevant standards. Utilizing quantitative assessments of electrical systems. The investigation examines the state of electrical installations, common safety practices, and the perceived risks associated with non-compliance. Findings indicate significant gaps in compliance with established electrical standards, which pose potential safety risks to students and staff. The study highlights key areas requiring improvement, such as wiring quality, grounding practices, and overall maintenance protocols. Additionally, it reveals the necessity for enhanced training and awareness among school personnel regarding electrical safety standards. In conclusion, this research emphasizes the urgent need for systematic interventions to ensure conformance to electrical standards in school infrastructure. The insights gained contribute to the discourse on educational safety and offer practical recommendations for policy development aimed at enhancing electrical safety in academic institutions.
