Application of Microtremor Method in Near Surface Investigation of Loess Plateau Region
Summary The surface gullies of the Loess Plateau are crisscrossed, and the near surface velocity varies greatly in both vertical and horizontal directions. Fine characterization of the near surface structure is crucial for seismic prospecting to identify the microstructural features of the strata. However, due to the limitations of surface conditions, the small refraction is often difficult to effectively deploy, while the uphole is difficult to carry out high-density deployment due to its high cost. In response to the above issues, the research of using the microtremor method to investigate the near surface structure in the area was conducted, and the results showed that micro tremor is a relatively effective near surface investigation method, can serve as an effective supplementary approach for near surface investigation, following the uphole and small refraction.
