High-precision Gravity Inversion Considering the Influence of the Antarctic Ice Sheet

Summary This paper focuses on high-precision gravity inversion considering the Antarctic ice sheet’s influence. Antarctica has rich resources but ice sheet coverage poses challenges to underground exploration. The study uses a 3D gravity inversion algorithm and incorporates ice radar-derived sheet thickness as a constraint. Through model experiments with cuboids and an ice sheet, it shows that with this method, the actual model position can be accurately located under known ice sheet influence, while conventional inversion fails. The method controls the ice sheet’s gravity effect and is more practical. Future work will apply it to actual data for Antarctic resource exploration.
