Study on Coupling Relationship Between Igneous Rocks and Oil-Gas-Rich Sag in Beibu Gulf Basin

Summary The Beibu Gulf Basin is one of the important Cenozoic oil and gas-bearing basins. After years of exploration, a large number of oil and gas fields and oil and gas-bearing structures have been discovered in the Weixinan Sag and the Wushi Sag. There are many factors affecting the distribution of oil and gas resources. This paper mainly explores the relationship between the distribution characteristics of igneous rocks and oil and gas resources. Using free-air gravity anomaly and magnetic anomaly data, the spatial distribution of igneous rocks in the Beibu Gulf Basin was identified by using gravity and magnetic data fusion and Euler deconvolution techniques. The results show that the igneous rocks in the northeastern area of the Beibu Gulf Basin are relatively developed. The burial depth of the igneous rocks varies by about 8 km, with more igneous rocks having depths of 4 km to 8 km. Combined with the analysis of known oil and gas resources, an igneous rock area ratio of between 26% and 50% is conducive to the development of oil and gas resources. This finding is of great significance for guiding the target area optimization of oil and gas exploration in the Beibu Gulf Basin.
