Application of OCTEM in Rock-fill Dam with Inclined Clay-core
Summary Leakage is one of the common hidden dangers in reservoir dams, characterized by its concealed and random nature, with inconspicuous early signs. Accurate detection of leakage hazards in dams is crucial for their safe operation. The Opposing Coils Transient Electromagnetic Method (OCTEM) offers advantages such as rapid detection, ease of operation, and the ability to overcome the shallow blind zone issue, making it suitable for various types of dams. This study targets a dam in a reservoir in northern Guangdong, applying OCTEM to detect potential leakage hazards. Through the processing and analysis of collected data, the reliability of this method is verified, providing a valuable reference for dam safety inspection and management.
