Prediction of Academic Achievement in Physical Education and Physical Activity: A Study

This study examines the potential correlation between students' academic success and their participation in physical education (PE) and physical activity (PA). Physical education is well known for its ability to improve physical health, but new research indicates that it also has a major positive impact on academic performance and cognitive development. Finding important elements in physical education and extracurricular physical activities that help forecast kids' overall academic performance is the goal of the current study. Self-reported measures of motivation, time management, and self-discipline were gathered together with academic records, including subject-specific grades and overall grade point average (GPA). The degree to which factors related to physical exercise predict academic results was investigated using regression analysis. The findings showed that regular exercise was positively correlated with improved academic performance in a variety of areas. Improved focus, memory retention, and classroom behavior were all demonstrated by students who participated in physical education and physical activities three or more times per week, all of which improved academic achievement. Furthermore, self-control and motivation, which are qualities developed via regular exercise, were found to be important indicators of success. The results highlight how crucial it is to incorporate physical education into school curricula as a calculated tactic to aid in students' academic and cognitive growth. Given its advantages for both academic performance and physical health, schools and legislators are urged to give inclusive and interesting physical activity programs a priority.
