The digital presence of 14 museum websites in Maharashtra has been studied in depth. The analysis used webometrics techniques to examine in detail the backlinks, page authority, Google Page Rank (GPR), CPR score, domain type and year of creation of the websites. This allowed for a measurement and comparative assessment of the online impact of museums.According to the findings, only one museum uses '.in' domain, whereas 50% use '.com' domain and 42.8% use '.org' name.Website development peaked in 2008 and continued intermittently in subsequent years. While CSMVS Mumbai had the highest page authority (43) with 870 referring domains, ManiBhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya had the highest GPR (5/10), suggesting good web presence.Less than 30 referring domains were found in several museums, indicating poor internet connectedness. The ratios of internal to external links varied greatly, with some websites placing a strong emphasis on internal navigation. The Paradox Museum had a more balanced internal link ratio than the Gargoti Museum, which had the greatest ratio (48.66), indicating little outward linkage. There were structural problems
