Generalized Thermal Conductivity Model for Liquid Hydrocarbons, Hydrofluorocarbons, Hydrochlorofluorocarbons, Hydrofluoroolefins, and Their Mixtures

The thermal conductivity of hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons is of great significance for petrochemical engineering and refrigeration. This work introduced the critical parameters and acentric factor into the reduced thermal conductivity through the analysis of the microscopic mechanism at the critical point. A new term of reduced thermal conductivity was constructed, which linearized the relationship between the reduced thermal conductivity and the reduced density. Besides, it overlapped the curves formed by different pure fluids and mixtures. Based on the corresponding states principle, a generalized thermal conductivity model applicable to liquid n-alkanes, n-alkenes, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons, hydrofluoroolefins, and their binary mixtures was constructed. The new model has only two global constants obtained through seven typical fluids. Experimental data of 22 pure fluids with 5800 points and of 16 binary mixtures with 3716 points were predicted, with average absolute relative deviations of 2.6% and 3.7%, respectively.
