Reducing the Risks Associated with Over The Counter Abortion Pills

Unintended pregnancies continue to be a significant global concern, with around half of all pregnancies falling into this category. This results in unsafe abortions. Particularly in India, the high rate of unsafe abortions is primarily caused by socioeconomic factors such as age, culture, financial hardship, and low educational attainment. The main reasons for young urban Indian women self-medicating for abortions are investigated in this paper, along with how medical professionals discuss pharmaceutical use. Critical deficiencies in healthcare services, such as insufficient medical, social, and emotional support for people dealing with unexpected pregnancies, are revealed by conducting interviews and using system mapping tools. The results highlight how urgently more sexual health education will decrease the stigma associated with reproductive disorders, and access to safe abortion services is needed. To address these challenges, this paper suggests a holistic approach to treatment that incorporates social support networks, medical safety protocols, and emotional health. An AI-powered chatbot application that encourages educated decision-making and makes healthcare providers easily accessible is the basis of this approach. This method enables people to take charge of their reproductive health with dignity and confidence by fostering a caring and easily accessible reproductive healthcare environment.
