Decentralized PID Controller for Multivariable Process Using Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO)
This study uses Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO), a bio-inspired optimization algorithm, for design of decentralized PID controller for multivariable processes. This issue is tackled by presenting a new objective function Such as ITAE. The BFO technique mimics the foraging behavior of bacteria to search for optimal control parameters, enabling the decentralized PID controller to adaptively fine-tune the control gains for each process variable. A decoupler is used to remove the interaction. Simulation results are presented for a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) process, demonstrating the superior performance of the BFO-based decentralized PID controller in terms of setpoint tracking, when compared to conventional control methods. The simulations were conducted in MATLAB/Simulink, and a comparative analysis of different controllers has been performed. The results validate the potential of BFO in enhancing the efficiency and robustness of decentralized control systems for complex multivariable processes. From simulation results proposed controller gives better results in term of ISE, IAE ITSE ITAE and no overshoot and reduced settling time
