Design and Implementation of an IoT-Enabled Tracking System with Real-Time Monitoring for Low Battery and Signal Loss Scenarios
This paper presents a standalone tracking system designed to address the challenges in conventional drone GPS tracking, particularly during low battery and signal loss scenarios. The device, powered independently from the drone's main controller, integrates a SIMCOM A7672S LTE module for reliable data transmission and an SD card for local storage. It supports real-time and power-saving modes to optimize power consumption while maintaining functionality. Its ability to efficiently transmit real-time data and store last recorded location data was confirmed by testing; the findings were viewable as graphical representations through the cloud platform and accessible through a specialized mobile application. Users can also locate the drone using the application interface by using previously recorded location data.
